Description

I have problems playing streams directly in the browser. I've tested on three different platforms with different browsers. Here's what I see:

I get the following dialog pop-up when clicking the play button (from the tvheadend EP-guide) using Google Chrome on my 64-bit Fedora-17 system:

The following plugin is required
text/html decoder
Do you want to search for this now?

A subsequent search always fail. The VLC player then shows up with an empty screen.

Using Firefox on the same system just renders the VLC player empty screen. There is no preceding dialog.

If I start the VLC player from a terminal window and then feed it the URL manually, i.e.:

http://hts:9981/stream/channelid/4

then the stream plays OK.

I also tested my Windows-XP system. Firefox doesn't work (same symptom as on Fedora). With IE nothing at all happens, but with Google Chrome, the VLC is started and the stream plays OK.

The tvheadend back-end was built from Git master on a 64-bit on a Fedora Core 18 system.
