Tvheadend

Hi,

I was not able to find any information regarding this on the forum, so I thought I'll through this out there. I've been wondering if anyone have information or perhaps knows how fastscan works, and if so what the chances are of getting Tvheadend to support this.

Let me try to explain. Most new Satellite decoders/set top boxes, have a fastscan setting. When you make use of that, the device will grab a pre-compiled list of channels from the provider, save it to memory, and without any scanning, you'll have all that providers channels. For instance, I live in The Netherlands, and I've tested this on a SAB Titan decoder. The box will zap to Freq. 12515 on Astra 1, download the list, and bob's your uncle, All The channels from CanalDigitaal is loaded.

I thought that this would be wonderful to have in Tvheadend, and it would save us from having to scan through a whole satellite list before we can map services to channels (which is a dog show when you have to work through 1000+ channels).

Any input regarding this is welcome!
