Multiple DVB-S tuners + Universal LNB + Single Cable
Added by Kev S over 11 years ago
I have a single satellite cable in my room connected to a single universal LNB and am well aware that I can only get optimal results with one cable per DVB-S tuner.
However I was wondering if TVHeadend supports anyway of saying "when this DVB-S tuner is in use, then this other DVB-S tuner is only able to tune to services sharing the same DiSEqC port, polarity, and 22kHz tone setting". As most of the desired channels (which aren't available on my terrestrial tuner) are on lo-band vertical at 28.5'E that would open up a fair chunk of channels to view when the primary tuner is already active.
Basically I have a cheap DM04 tuner sat in a box which kept losing tuner lock so I replaced it with a Technotrend tuner which has worked perfectly - however it looks like the issues with the DM04 were with the rubbish PSU and as I have some decent universal spares knocking about so was wondering If I could bring it into service again - no point trying if it's going to keep knocking out the decent tuner!
