TVHeadend won't start on Raspberry Pi
Added by Rob Bob over 11 years ago
Hi all
I have decided to make an in-car media hub for my Nexus 10 to access whilst on the road, or away camping (or to be honest, whenever we are away from home). I sucessfully setup a wireless hotspot and network shares on the pi, and can connect to the pi and play media using the Nexus, it also has a second wireless card to route to any available internet enabled wireless - brilliant so far.
I have also installed TVHeadend using this guide here: http://coder36.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/tvheadend-on-raspberry-pi.html and all was working pretty well. However, whilst fiddling, I did a reboot of the pi (by pulling the power) and since then TVHeadend has stopped automatically starting on boot. There are no warnings during boot to indicate there is a problem.
If I type "sudo /etc/init.d/tvheadend start", the script reports back "Starting tvheadend" (so the script is definitely running), but it doesn't actually start.
If I type just type "tvheadend" it runs, but the ssh session is locked to that executing instance until I press CTRL+C (which kills tvheadend).
Does anyone have any tips to help me diagnose why the script is no-longer working?
Thanks all
