Different behavior with same satellite antenna and tuner on two different macs

Added by radar test almost 12 years ago

Hello,

I'm trying to setup a Tvheadend configuration at home on Ubuntu, in a VM hosted on a Mac mini. I'm using an Elgato EyeTV Sat tuner which is well recognized with EyeTV and gets good satellite signal.
I cloned the git repository this night on my Mac Mini and followed the different steps in this tutorial to build and run it. My adaptor is recognized as STB0899 Multistandard and I can access the web interface.
When I go to DVB Inputs tab, I add a DVB network by location and I choose the Astra 19.2E line. On the Mini, I found only one Mux. If I choose Hotbird 13E, I found somthing like 80 Muxes. When I let it scan, it found only 14 services.
The strange behavior is that if I run exactly the same configuration (same tuner, same dish, same version from git, same satellite) on a Macbook Pro, then I have much more Muxes and about 400 services. What can explain such different behaviors?

Now, when scanning is done, I would like to map the services to channels. I press the button but nothing happens. Is there something specific I should manually do? I cannot find any doc about that.

Thanks in advance.

OK, I understood how to map services to channels. But still don't understand why these different behaviors.
