Some questions from a beginner

Cheers for looking in
i recently decided to drop our household TV subscription.
we now have a bunch of TVs all using DVB-T for free to air services.
i do have a working SAT dish with a twin LBN which works just fine.
Points at the SKY/Eurobird SAT i think.
i have one XBMC front-end and im looking at adding a XBMC front-end into most room's.
i really like the XBMC seems very slick.
I have a NAS with an SMB share where i keep my MKV's and this acts like my PVR.
i have no interest in recording live TV, only in streaming live TV to the XBMC clients.
im using the CatchupTV XBMC plug in but its very pixelated and drops connection a lot of the time.
so couple of questions.
1. can two or more XBMC clients watch live TV streams ?
2. do i need 1 tuner per client ?
3. i might get my hands on a WinTV-HVR-4000 with has DVB-T and DVB-S2 tuners, will this allow me to have two clients watching different live tv at the same time ?
4. can i just keep adding more tuners as i install more XMBC clients ?
Cheers
Cid.

Hi Cid,
so couple of questions.
1. can two or more XBMC clients watch live TV streams ?
Yes. If two XBMC-clients subscribe to tvheadend they both can watch streams.
2. do i need 1 tuner per client ?
Yes/No: Yes, if you want to watch two different channels from two different muxes at the same time you need two tuners.
No, not as long as the clients watch the same channel (or even of they watch another channel on the same mux).
4. can i just keep adding more tuners as i install more XMBC clients ?
Yes, I think so, but I am not sure if there is an upper limit (I use three:a dvb-t and 2 dvb-c, and that works)
As far as i know XBMC doesnt care about the tuners; It only cars about tvheadend as a backend, and tvheadend takes care of the tuners.
Hope this helps,
Alex.
