Hardware is detected, scans, but not avilable for streaming

Added by peter fisher about 12 years ago

Hey there,

I'm running TVheadend (2.13~git20120501.8f76d0c-ppa2~precise) with the DVB-C/T stick Sundtek Media TV on Ubuntu 12.04 with xbmc Eden as the frontend. The stick was able to scan and find some DVB-T channels which I now have under Configuration/Channels.

So far so good, EPG is showing up correctly, but I can't get a video.

When I try to play a channel using the web interface this is what the console puts out:

Oct 17 09:50:21 HTTP: 192.168.0.10: /stream/channelid/2 -- 401
Oct 17 09:50:21 HTTP: 192.168.0.10: /stream/channelid/2 -- 401

but there's no picture, only the icon of VLC, which is installed. I tried it in Firefox, Chrome, Chromium, ie on a remote computer and on Firefox and Chromium on the host of TVheadend. I tried it as a user the has and hasn't administrative privileges in tvheadend.

If I try to play a channel in xbmc (running on the host) this message shows up in xbmc:

Tvheadend HTSP Client
No hardware present

and the console of tvheadend reports this:

Oct 17 09:55:50 htsp: 127.0.0.1: Welcomed client software: XBMC Media Center
Oct 17 09:55:50 htsp: 127.0.0.1 [ XBMC Media Center ]: Identified as user dvb
Oct 17 09:55:50 htsp: 127.0.0.1 [ dvb | XBMC Media Center ]: Privileges raised
Oct 17 09:55:50 subscription: No transponder available for subscription "127.0.0.1 [ dvb | XBMC Media Center ]" to channel "ARD"

I thought that maybe something else is using the transponder:

/opt/bin/mediaclient --lc

+++ List of Media Clients +++
/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0:
1965 ... tvheadend
/dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0:
1965 ... tvheadend
/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0:
No client connected
/dev/mediainput0:
No client connected

which shows that tvheadend is connected to the device.

Any help is most welcome!

OK, I got it to work in XBMC!

But I still get the same error when I try to watch a stream in the web interface.

Oct 17 09:50:21 HTTP: 192.168.0.10: /stream/channelid/2 -- 401
Oct 17 09:50:21 HTTP: 192.168.0.10: /stream/channelid/2 -- 401

Strangely I can watch directly in VLC if I use a link like http://192.168.0.102:9981/stream/ts-channelid/1

Any ideas?

I updated the software with the download form this website to 3.0, which unfortunately didn't help.

But if I create another user without name nor password, streaming in the web interface works. However, there's no channel list in the drop down menu, so one needs to click on the items in the epg list, of which some don't have a play button.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
