Tvheadend

Is there a way to pre-associate a record profile with a channel so that any recordings on that channel will use that particular profile?

I see that you can select a profile when creating a timer in the tvheadend app, however:
-If you forget to do it (or select the wrong one) tvheadend can crash when using a profile that is not compatible with the stream for that channel.
-I don't see a way to select a profile when creating a timer from a client such as kodi.
