Continue recording after "Continuity counter error?"
Added by Brad Woight about 1 year ago
I have TVHeadend set up to view and record from my IPTV account. Everything is working great, except for a frustrating issue with video recording. If I'm recording a program and tvheadend reports a "Continuity counter error" in its logs, the recording will stop. tvheadend will still report that the recording is in process, and the logs will later state that the recording successfully ended as scheduled, but the video file itself won't contain any content after the continuity error occurs. Is there a way to configure TVheadend to recover from the continuity error, even if it misses a short period of recorded video? Even if I could write a script that detects a continuity counter error, ends the recording, then starts a new recording for the in-progress program, that would be better than losing all video after the error occurs!
I primarily use tvheadend to record live sports and then start watching them later on a delay, but the odds of recording a complete 2.5 hour hockey or basketball game has only been around 50%.
