Which Client on Google-/Android-TV supports MPEG-TS-Spawn-Profiles?

Added by aim aim about 2 years ago

Thanks to a post on another forum I've finally gotten hw-accelerated transcoding to work via MPEG-TS-Spawn-Profiles on my RPi4 (TVH 4.3, pios arm64):

Unfortunately MPEG-TS-Spawn-Profiles aren't supported by HTSP, as explained here by Jaroslav Kysela:
https://tvheadend.org/issues/4705#note-1

MPEG-TS-Spawn-Profiles seem to be the only way to get hw-accelerated transcoding to work on a RPi. Jay O tried to get hw-acceleration on RPis working via a built-in, non-spawn-profile, but didn't succeed:

That's why I'm now looking for good streaming clients, that support spawn-profiles.
On Android TVHClient seems to be the way to go. However there's no Google-/Android-TV version. And it seem there's none coming:
https://github.com/rsiebert/TVHClient/issues/127
Also sideloading the mobile app on google tv doesn't work.

I could of course just export an m3u from tvh and import that in some iptv app. But I would have to do this everytime something changed in my channel list. Also it'd be a bitch to get epg working from some external source (I think).

Does anybody have any ideas for a comfortable solution to stream from tvh to google tv using spawn profiles, yet not losing epg and automatic adaptation of the channel list?

In case anyone wonders why I need this: I'm on the road a lot and I like to bring my ccwgtv (Chromecast with Google TV) with me, but the bandwidth isn't always sufficient to stream live tv from home.

Im grateful for any hints

Cheers

It turns out, if you set a spawn-profile in kodi's htsp client's streaming options and activate "use http for streaming channels" (also under streaming options) it does still complain about not finding the profile, yet it works anyways!
