After server reboots , recordings no longer appear in Kodi

Added by Mark de Leon over 2 years ago

I started a recording from the KOdi EPG GUI whie a program was in progress.

Later I could replay the recording from "recordings" in Kodi PVR client.

After server reboots, recordings no longer appear in Kodi PVR "recordings" section. The file is still in /home/hts so it must be missing from a database or something?

Makes me wonder with this and so many other issues if anyone actually TESTS this software.

IIRC if some other software modifies the file in any way from what tvheadend expects then it is marked as "missing".

Oh and petty jabs like "Makes me wonder with this and so many other issues if anyone actually TESTS this software." are not helpful & makes people less likely to help you.

Well I just re-installed after a -purge and deleting the /home/hts/user directory.

Still many of the same problems remain, but some are different like I can not record at all now.

Not a great experience.

I see fragmented documentation like Wiki does not point to full docs, inconsistent naming during initial install and a list of issues including server crashes, so I do not know how to be more honest about it.

It seems to me like an abandoned project or a project that one person alone is trying to maintain, when there is far too much to fix.

What my statement should say to this project, is that if someone is maintaining and testing this perhaps they need to step up and get some fixes done , because the way it is, it's pretty messed up.

Maybe you would rather that I am not honest and tell you how wonderful it is despite that I have to restart server and client several times daily?

Lets face it, at least on the Pi 3 it is way messed up.
I may have to try NextPVR as daunting as it seems to start over. Obviously the learning curve on this package was time wasted.

I do hope that others considering learning all this to install it, first read this, so they are warned in advance that it is a WASTE OF TIME at least on Rpi 3 with Kodi 19 as a client.
