Services not appearing in Channels List

Added by Mark Templeman over 2 years ago

Hi everyone

I have just set up a DVB-S TVHeadend server on a RPi4 feeding a client on a RPi3B. I can watch and record channels successfully.

The problem that I am having is in trying to select the correct ITV, CH4 etc regions for my location. I have 11 services for 104 Channel 4.

But only 1 appears in the Channels tab even though I mapped all services. This is the same for other channels such as ITV.

Please can you advise me on any thing that I need to do to make them all appear in the channels list so that I can select the ones that I need for my region.

I did try to use the Bouquets without any success.

Also I have the EPG partially working I have information for the TV channels but none for the Radio channels. Any suggestions for correcting this?

TIA

The ITV and Channel 4 services are for the different UK regions. Unfortunately the broadcasters simply name them 'ITV' or Channel 4' instead of specifying which region they are for. You would need to find the correct one for your area and manually map the service across to the channel.

Re the EPG, I see you are using the 'OpenTV' grabber. This is provided by Sky and doesn't carry EPG data for radio channels. The alternative is to use the FreeSat grabber, which carries the Radio EPG but not the TV channels which are not part of FreeSat such as CNN HD. The FreeSat EPG multiplex (11425H) also carries the Bouquet data, so you may have better luck with Bouquets if you use that.

Hi Dave thanks for your suggestions. I will try to sort out the relevent regions.

I still am not getting any Radio EGG. I have disabled the 'OpenTV' grabber in the EPG Grabber Modules UK: Freesat was already enabled. And I have set the 'EPG Module id' to UK: Freesat and to Manual in the Muxes tab.

I restarted TVHeadend. I still get the 'OpenTV' entries in the Channels tab. Are there any other steps that I need to take to ensure that it is using the UK: Freesat EPG?

Thanks for your help

You'll need to tune TVH to the FreeSat EPG mux (11426.5H) periodically in order to grab the EPG - use the Mux Schedulers tab to do it at a convenient time. 'EPG Scan' should be 'Enable (auto)' for 11426.5H, the other muxes don't carry EPG.

To start with a clean EPG without the OpenTV entries, shutdown TVH, delete the existing EPG database at /home/hts/.hts/tvheadend/epgdb.v3 and restart.
