stream profiles per dvb input type

Added by jody gugelhop over 3 years ago

hi folks :)
I was wondering if we can somehow specify the stream profile to use per dvb input.
To give a scenario: I have atm 2 different type of input, one I use dvb-s cards and the other is direct IPTV. On my local net I just use htsp/pass for both types no issue. However, I also use it in remote locations (over internet via vpn). My upload speed is not great from the location I run the tvh server, so I have setup some nicely working video/codec/stream profiles (so transcoding) for my dvb-s input to keep bandwidth low but I don't want it to be used for the direct IPTV as that comes from another provider directly over the internet and no thus no transcoding required.
So in short it would be great if it would be possible to specify to use the streaming profile per input type so it will transcode when I pick something from my dvb-s and use no transcoding but just htsp/pass for the iptv stuff.
[I could of course just locally setup tvh or use some iptv plugin, load that list on the remote location and just use dvb-s transcoding from my main tvh server, also other solutions are possible but I would rather be able to use a streaming profile per input type if somehow possible]
thx in advance

You can get different profile per output, manually

thank you, that does work of course but I think it would be handy to be able to set such an option in tvh directly, would be more practical when you use e.g. kodi with tvh addon but i guess i that is not possible, maybe something for a feature request
