Missing EPG info for some channels

Added by Mike K almost 4 years ago

Hi!

Version of TVHeadend?
- 4.2.8-36~g5bdcfd8ac
Running on what OS and version?
- Running in a docker instance within unRAID
Package that came with the OS or something you compiled yourself?
- Precompiled package via docker
Adapter/tuner chipset or make/model?
- HDHomerun dual tuner

Detailed description of problem. If possible: Steps to duplicate.

Found that a certain channel (WCCO-DT) is missing from the Electronic Program Guide tab (see epg-tab.png attached).

I've looked at the guide data fetched from SchedulesDirect, and it appears to contain the channel in question:

  <channel id="I21234.json.schedulesdirect.org">
    <display-name>WCCODT (WCCO-DT)</display-name>
    <display-name>WCCODT</display-name>
    <display-name>4_1</display-name>
    <icon width="360" src="https://schedulesdirect-api20141201.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/assets/stationLogos/s21234_dark_360w_270h.png" height="270" />
  </channel>

And an example associated program I'm expecting to see in the EPG tab:

  <programme start="20201116000000 +0000" stop="20201116010000 +0000" channel="I21234.json.schedulesdirect.org">
    <title>60 Minutes</title>
    <desc>Former President Barack Obama; the popular TikTok app and data collection.</desc>
    <credits>
      <producer>Bill Owens</producer>
      <guest>Barack Obama</guest>
    </credits>
    <category>Newsmagazine</category>
    <category>Series</category>
    <category>series</category>
    <episode-num system="xmltv_ns">52.10.</episode-num>
    <episode-num system="dd_progid">EP000000351545</episode-num>
    <video>
      <quality>HDTV</quality>
    </video>
    <audio>
      <stereo>stereo</stereo>
    </audio>
    <previously-shown start="20201115" />
    <new />
    <subtitles type="teletext" />
  </programme>

Looking at the "Channel/EPG / Channels" configuration tab (see channels-epg_channels.png attached), I see the channel listed and have tried to tweak the other configuration parameters to match the other sub-channels (eg, WCCO-DT2) that are showing up in the EPG correctly, but I cannot get anything to show in the main EPG tab.

Other things I've tried:
1. Disable all but the External-XMLTV grabber (had 2 other OTA EIT grabbers enabled)
2. Changed channel configuration for WCCO to specify "EPG source" and also "Reuse EPG from"
3. Reran tv_grab_sd_json many times after changing configuration
4. Restarted tvheadend after changing configurations

Other ideas for things to try and get this specific channel guide information available?

Thanks!
mike

Does changing the channel name to remove the "-" fix it? It doesn't seem like it should matter, but.there is some reason it's not linking up correctly.

I don't use an external guide so I'm probably not of much help (and can't test).
