Channels randomly(?!) disappearing

Added by cust0m firmwar3 over 4 years ago

Hi,

recently I've discovered an issue where some channels seem to randomly disappear, e.g. only 64 of 115 are available within the player of the web interface and in all other clients.

Version of TVHeadend: 4.2.8-36~g5bdcfd8ac
Running on what OS and version? Ubuntu 20.04 LXC container
Package that came with the OS or something you compiled yourself? Tvheadend is the only service running in the container
Adapter/tuner chipset or make/model? TeVii S480
Detailed description of problem. If possible: Steps to duplicate:

1. 115/115 channels are available within the web interface
2. do nothing
3. The next day (even without a reboot or reconfig) not all channels are available
4. do nothing (even not rebooting)
5. 1-2 days later, all channels are available again

Could that be related tot he DVB-S signal strength (-42.9 dBm for some channels/transponders)? E.g. channels with a low signal strength are automatically removed from the channel list after dropping below a certain threshold?

I noticed a similar symptom in a build from March and with the recent build from July 7. Mapped services (mostly BBC Two HD, BBC Four HD and recently 4seven) get to be unmapped, i.e., the Services field in the Channel is emptied after a restart. Without a restart, the association keeps working. The Channel itself does not disappear in the web interface, it just doesn't work any more. I can easily re-map the 3 or 4 Services to the Channel and everything works again.
