TVHeadend Master/Slave 4.3-1857
Added by Manfred Engleitner over 4 years ago
Hey Guys,
TVHeadend is a realy good piece of software.
Since short I have a problem with my master/slave configuration and I´m afraid, that the new version is causing the problem. In my feeling the world around TVHeadend did not change, and in the old version 4.3-1811/1819 (the exact number I forgot) and versions before it was working for a longer period of time.
Short description of my setup:
On both systems is Linux xxx 4.19.0-8-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.98-1 (2020-01-26) x86_64 the base.
At the slave RTSP Port 9983 is activated and the network "Slave" is "The SAT>IP source number" 1.
The http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9981/satip_server/desc.xml shows the typical XML-site where in row 12 is <modelDescription>Tvheadend 4.3-1857~g221c29b40</modelDescription>.
At the master I use TVHEADEND_OPTIONS="--satip_xml http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9981/satip_server/desc.xml" in the file /etc/default/tvheadend.
There are two networks configured "Master" and "Slave" and the network "Slave" has the "The SAT>IP source number" 1. The remote TV-Adapter is shown and configurated without "Schneller Eingangswechsel" something like fast inputchange. I tried to switch the ui to englisch and restarted TVHeadend but the language of the ui stays in German.
For debugging purposes I activated "subscription, satip".
2020-02-28 05:48:03.014 [ INFO]:subscription: 0273: "epggrab" subscribing to mux "11582.25H", weight: 4, adapter: "SAT>IP DVB-S Tuner #1 (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9983@TCP)", network: "Slave", service: "Raw PID Subscription"
2020-02-28 05:48:08.015 [WARNING]:satip: SAT>IP DVB-S Tuner #1 (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9983@TCP) - no data received, restarting RTSP
As I can see, the request is sent to the Slave but then no answer is coming back.
A few hours of Google... I´m lost here.
Switching to a channel is with both instances via ui possible.
How can I debug further?
Please be so kind and support me!
Greetings
Manfred

Are both system in same lan or they are remote?
Why not iptv transfer betwin both?
RE: TVHeadend Master/Slave 4.3-1857 - Added by Manfred Engleitner over 4 years ago
Thanks for your fast response saen acro - I´ve seen your name often in posts when searching for information.
The two server are in the same lan - until the new version it was working properly. In normal circumstances i would downgrade...
I have no problems to use other ways, specially when they work :).
A short further explanaition of my system. Serverside I use TVHeadend and on clientside I use 5 Kodi-Clients (2 x LibreELEC [RPI3, RPI4], 1 x Kodi 16 cause of Android 4.4 on Xoro MegaPad 1851, 2 x Kodi 18.5 on Android) with HTSP.
The functionality with recording is used excessive (my wife loves Navi CIS, Mentalist, Castle, Conan...). During recording it´s nice to see other channels without any special configuration - only switch to the channel and TVHeadend is doing the rest. I call it the "wife acceptance factor". With TS-Doctor I cut out the commercials and transcode to H.265 with XMedia Recode.
I searched within tvheadend.org/Google with the two buzzwords "iptv Transfer"...
I also tried to add a new Network under DVB-Inputs within TVHeadend (IPTV Automatik Network and IPTV Network) but it is hard to grab the needed information.
Could you please provide me with further Details?
Thank you very much in advance!

How many tuners you have on what system's

I have two systems with DVB-Inputs on "Linux xxx 4.19.0-8-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.98-1 (2020-01-26) x86_64" in different rooms, because the antenna for DVB-S2 is in these rooms.
For the network I use 6 TP-Link Powerline Adapters, because laying cables is a bigger effort in the rentet flat.
One adapter is a DVBSKY 952 Dual S2

Answer more shortly and concentrated.
So you have 3 tuners total?

RE: TVHeadend Master/Slave 4.3-1857 - Added by Manfred Engleitner over 4 years ago
You find attached screenshots - "... Master for Slave..." is the configuration in the TVHeadend Master for remote from Slave and "... Slave..." is the tunersetting from TVHeadend Slave.

In my oppinion a security update was the origin for the Problems.
After a few days without doing anything it is working properly again.
Only unattanded updates are active.
Thanks for your time!!!
