I want to make sure that my version of tvheadend is higher than 4.2.8-31~g0a60f73.
my version is 8f1de1621d78c91431238176bf4f6290870a031a
how can I verify it?

Use one of the methods described in https://stackoverflow.com/questions/12214746/find-a-commit-on-github-given-the-commit-hash to find the commit for your version on Github. Then find the commit for the version you want to check against (in this case 0a60f73) and compare dates.
