Disconnect error 192.168.1.22:9981 not available

I have TVHeadend on a laptop connected to my network . Normally I have no problem running TVHeadend in Kodi on my network using Win7 PC and TV's using Rasberry Pi 3. Recently I've noticed disconnections from the server. Not sure but it seems to be after I try to watch a channel which I can't connect to due to weak signal. Of course I don't know its a weak channel until I try and TVHeadend tells me "no signal". Any thoughts would be appreciated. Seems the only way to reconnect is to reboot my laptop. :-(
