Hi all,

TVH (4.4.20181215) crashes every time just after trying to record something on a Synology DS216+II with Kodi on a Nvidia Shield with the following debug logs:

Hi all,

Install debug version

RE: CRASH: Signal: 6 in PRG - Added by Jens Struck over 5 years ago

O.K. And how can I do that with the "Synology" version?

RE: CRASH: Signal: 6 in PRG - Added by Martin Walter over 5 years ago

It can be done, but is very, very cumbersome and unlikley to get you anywhere.
I think you are using a Dierkse build, but Dierkse does not provide support anymore and his last snapshot is from end 2018, i.e. outdated. Maybe you get lucky if he updates, but he won't look into your problem specifically.

You can try the latest stable 4.2.8 version from SynoCommuniy, which is realible from all I can tell. Cannot speak for "fancy" usecases though.
I'd try that instead.

RE: CRASH: Signal: 6 in PRG - Added by Jens Struck over 5 years ago

Thank you very much for your answer Martin. And yes, I'm using the "tvheadend-testing" version from Dierkse, because "the other original one" with a packet installer on Synology won't start (permissions etc.).
Same crash/died situation with the older 4.2.8 version, so I tried to ask Dierske directly via E-Mail which brought suddenly the 4.4.20181215 version on Synology (and no reply) but same issue.

I think the best bet is to quit with TVheadend on Synology/Kodi/Shield and use a different possibility to connect to a Dreambox with DDNS...

RE: CRASH: Signal: 6 in PRG - Added by saen acro over 5 years ago

Why not build latest binary?
Its regular x86-64 linux inside Synology DS216+II.

RE: CRASH: Signal: 6 in PRG - Added by Jens Struck over 5 years ago

Well, as I said when using this package the server won't start due to permission, login, I don't know problems. Not so with the "Dierske" version. That's why I tried this one.
Next thing would be that I have to install it from scratch again (unfortunately no chance to save the config) what was a pain yesterday (workflow is services.3mu from Dreambox via DDNS, TVheadend + wg++ grabber, Nvidia Shield with Kodi).
That took me 4 hours "only" to see that the software died after initializing a record...

RE: CRASH: Signal: 6 in PRG - Added by saen acro over 5 years ago

ps aux | grep tvheadend

to see who and how run service

in about Toggle details you can see how is compiled and where store config etc.
