Tevii s460 & diseqc problem

Added by Yiannis Diamond over 12 years ago

Hi All,

I've installed 3 Tevii s460 PCI cards on P4 board.

Ubuntu 10 and Tvheadend latest version (2.12) installed.

After logging in to web page, all 3 cards detected but I face the following problem.

When trying to add muxes manually (even for auto search) I get error: diseqc setup failed -1

Same setup tested with ubuntu 11 with no change.

However when installing Openelec and then adding Tvheadend addon (v1.0.1) problem not occurred and muxes smoothly added.

Can you please help me to overcome problem with ubuntu setup?

tnx

I tried to build from source however same problem occurs on ubuntu 11.

Any other suggestions?

I'm getting mad... tvheadend diseqc works fine over openelec... but not on standalone ubuntu installation!

Did you install the firmware for the S460? I think it is include in OpenELEC but not Ubuntu.

I have the S480 and while Ubuntu 11.10 has drivers for the card I still needed to install the firmware. Very easy to do, just google for "S460 + Linux" and check out the V4L wiki.

Yes! This solved my problem!
Even though Ubuntu detects Tevii's Conexant chipset, can not work unless linux Tevii firmware installed.
Thanks a lot for your help.
