Problems with tvheadend on raspberry pi and DVBviewer as RTSP client
Added by bene sch almost 6 years ago
Hi,
due to the shutdown of DVB-T in our region I needed switch to DVB-T2. As I already have a raspberry pi running (B+, rev1.2) I want to use the device together with tvheadend as my DVB receiver. As client, I used DVBviewer on Windows for more than a decade and want to continue using it. I basically got everything running, however, I have a problem getting it to run stably.
I achieved to set up the Sat>IP server in the tvheadend interface and added a RTSP-device in DVBviewer. I can see all configured channels in DVBviewer, including EPG and I can also start to watch a channel. However, after a couple of seconds, usually less than two minutes the video freezes, while the sound continues. Also when I switch to fullscreen and back, always one new still picture is displayed.
When I open the webpage of tvheadend on my Windows client, I can select any program in the EPG and open the stream (or save the m3u to open it later) in Potplayer (my favorite videoplayer) or also in the DVBviewer (however, here I don't have the normal TV-functionality). In Potplayer I can watch the stream perfectly, however in the DVBviewer it also stucks after some seconds.
Do you have any idea, what could be the reason and where I can continue to search for a solution? If you need any more information, just ask.
