Thanks and goodbye ...

Hi all,
Since today, there are no longer free-to-air terrestrial TV broadcasts where I live, in Flanders, Belgium.
We only had the three channels of the public broadcaster VRT, but since today, they are no longer transmitting.
I believe this is the first region in Europe, where you can no longer watch the public broadcaster for free over the air. (1)(2)
So here we are ... I must say goodbye to you, tvheadend. You've been a faithful companion for the last 5 years or so, but now you're aimlessly scanning the air for a signal that's no longer there.
Thanks to Jaroslav Kysela, Adam Sutton and all other contributors for providing this reliable software package. It's been very useful, and I wish you a bright future to come. Unfortunately without the Flemish.
Best,
Bram
(1) Technically, they're still FTA, since providing a crappy website to watch TV also counts as "free-to-air" as long as you don't count the cost of the internet connection.
(2) There's still a commercial OTA broadcaster called TV-vlaanderen, but that's behind a CI+ module paywall, which AFAIK can't be received with tvheadend

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Amazing how "FTA" can be redefined.
I read a couple of years ago that they want to do something similar here with everything streamed on the Internet, so they can sell off more of the airwaves, but I think it will be a good decade away since (thankfully) we have such poor Internet infrastructure in large parts of the country

TVHeadend is quite good with Free-To-Aair satellite.
Is this an option?

A small Ku dish with a DVB-S2 tuner device will let you access a multitude of channels with TVH.
