How can I renumber the channels by script?

Is there a way to change channel numbers by a script?
Either config file processing, or using API would be great. As I remember earlier version of tvhedend used human readable config files, but in version 4.2.6-16~g42e737f28 I am using (debian stretch) the file names, and values in these config files in ~/.hts/tvheadend/channel/config directory are seems to be encoded (fix length hex value).
Would somebdy help me how can I renumber channels by a script? I already have a text file with channel name number mapping , I would like to apply tvheadend configuration.
