pass the URL to your desc.xml on your satip box to tvh.
--satip_xml "http://192.xxx.xxx.xxx:1234/desc.xml"
The unit uses http://Ip:port/rootDescr without the xml extension. Can I still pass it the same? Also, what is the correct command in the cli to start tvh with this passed?
You'll have to edit the start-up script to pass that option, I have no idea where that is on Syno.
Hi Mark
Wanted to continue this in a new thread, to avoid clogging up the NAS thread. I've got a VM with TVH installed on Ubuntu 16.04 server to try and see if I can fix this Triax issue. Can you point me in the right direction of the start up scripts as if I can fix it here then I'll be able to fix my NAS issues.
Many thanks,
Chris

So I figured this out, its in /etc/defaults!
Added the option linking to the non-standard xml and its worked; a large number of resets later and TVH is still finding the tuners.
Does the tvh file in defaults get replaced on an upgrade? Will I have to add the --satip command in everytime?
Cheers

Not usually. However with deb if the defaults change in the package you'll get prompted on upgrade and asked what to do.
