Tvheadend server stalls

I started and left a scan running last night thinking it would have finished by the morning but it stuck at 87%.

The server is running on a PC under Arch Linux. I'm running TVheadend (HTS Tvheadend 4.3-1152~g2baa71998) compiled by myself from recent sources and no msgs have been output for the last five hours so I suspect it has stalled. The system itself is working as I can access it from a different terminal.

Should I just restart TVheadend? It seems like something has broken. How do I find out why it has stopped?

I reinstalled TVheadend and restarted it and again it stalls when the scan reaches 87% after finding 147 muxes and 1483 services.

Is there a debug option I can set on to see why it stops at this point?

After a restart it goes on to 100% and finds 1684 services - no more muxes.

Is there any way I can tell how many, of each, are available, for instance from lyngsat?
