Is one preferred over the other?

Is there any positives to run in docker?

I generally like to run things in docker just to isolate dependencies. I'm runnin emby, plex, tvh, sd hdhomerun, and some other stuff and different dependencies can clash. Docker provides a nice isolation there. But I've since been learning about some deficiencies with plex in docker so i was wondering about tvh. Are there parts of tvh that will simply work better outside of docker?

Isolation from who? yourself?
Or you a service provider?
Docker is useless in home environment.

This is simply not true. With docker I can try out new versions of an app without damaging a production instance of that app. I have docker containers for tvh 4.2 and 4.3. Emby (for example) installs a crap ton of dependencies. By running it in a container allows me to avoid having to install and maintain them on my main system.
