Old completed recordings suddenly changed to failed recordings
Added by Tent Icle almost 7 years ago
Hi all,
Hoping someone may have seen this strange problem before.
I went away over Christmas to visit family. On return yesterday, I found my Tvh server unresponsive. I power cycled it, logged in via ssh and discovered a load average of 150 with almost 100 post-recording scripts running.
All those post-recording scripts were running against old completed recordings (some up to 6 months old). All of those recordings competed successfully when they were recorded (including running the post-recording script). The script itself has not changed in 2 years. So I don’t understand why Tvh suddenly decided it needed to run the script against them again now.
(My post-recording script runs comskip, which is cpu/memory/disk intensive. This explains the load).
The box was rapidly becoming unresponsive again, so I killed all 100 post-recording script processes. Since then, new recordings work perfectly as though nothing ever happened. I’ve rebooted several more times and everything is normal.
There’s only one problem: because (I assume) I killed the redundant post-recording processes, all of those recordings are now marked as failed recordings. This means they no longer appear in the Kodi client gui.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas about why Tvh would suddenly revisit those old recordings?
Most importantly, does anyone know how to changed the status of a recording so I can revert these from ‘failed’ recordings back to completed recordings?

There's an option in 4.3 to move recordings to the finished tab even if failed, not sure it exists in 4.2 though.
