Initial login impossible

Hi Guys,
hoping someone has seen this problem and has a solution. There are many posts about it but no definitive solution :(
1) Installed tvheadend-testing v4.4.20171030-1 (J.Dierkse version) from http://syno.dierkse.nl/ on Synology 1813+ DSM 6.1.4
2) Installer prompts for initial username and password which I enter and go through with the install.
3) After install I navigate to http://10.0.1.50:9081 where I get a login prompt for username and password but no username or password is excepted (I tried so many)
Checked permissions in DSM and via SSH - all seems to be fine.
Can anyone help ?
