Kodi 18 + TVHeadend 4.2.4 (version question)

Added by Stefan Jäger about 7 years ago

Dear all,

I have downloaded the latest version of OSMC and upgraded Kodi to version 18. Now I would like to install tvheadend version 4.2.4 (latest stable version).

Unfortunately when running: sudo apt-get install tvheadend it always try to install tvheadend version 4.0.8?

My /etc/apt/sources.list looks as follows:

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian jessie main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://dl.bintray.com/tvheadend/deb jessie release
#deb http://apt.osmc.tv jessie main
deb http://download.osmc.tv/dev/gmc-18 ./

Do you have any idea how to force installing version 4.2.4 instead???

Stefan

If i try this in /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://dl.bintray.com/tvheadend/deb jessie release-4.2

I am getting the following message when running sudo apt-get update:

W: Fehlschlag beim Holen von http://dl.bintray.com/tvheadend/deb/dists/jessie/Release Erwarteter Eintrag »release-4.2/binary-armhf/Packages« konnte in Release-Datei nicht gefunden werden (falscher Eintrag in sources.list oder missgebildete Datei).

Unfortunaltely in German language but it actually says that the release file couldn't be found under the path.

Any idea why that is?

Aha! You're using a Pi - should've noticed that before with OSMC - There is currently no official release build for the Pi from main repo - unless you want unstable :p.

The good news is I (and many others) are providing unofficial repos until the main repo can catch up. Instructions on how to switch to an alt repo are here.
