Recording parameters for file names missing
Added by Chess Player about 7 years ago
Hi everyone,
first of all, I would like to thank everyone who contributes to this amazing project!
Then, here is my problem: after a few years, I took it upon me to switch from VDR to TVheadend for LiveTV using LibreELEC (8.2). Now when I want to edit the recording profile, there are no more options to include the episode in the recording's filename nor are their options to make subdirectories. Both are not configurable, but standard in VDR, so I was very surprised to find those options missing now (obviously the documentation for the feature is five years old, so a lot seems to have changed in the meantime ...)
Anyway, here is my question:
a) Is there a way to get these parameters back?
b) Is there another way to specify the filename to be generated? (When adding a timer, the default title is "Time-%F_%R", so it looks like there might be a way to do something with this)
Cheers,
chessplayer

I think if you look in Configuration->Recording->Profile then you may need to press "advanced" to see all the options for recording. I use a slightly later development version where there has been GUI tidy-up but there should be a format string" there and tick boxes to include episode name and "make directory per title".

Actually, it was something else. In the "General" configuration tab, I had to set the "User interface level" to "Expert" ("Advanced" was not enough). Now all the options are there.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply!

P.S. I just saw that this is more or less a duplicate of [[https://tvheadend.org/boards/4/topics/26928]].
