Switching services over different networks
Added by Nicolas Rioja about 7 years ago
Hi,
I´ll try to explain my configurations and my doubts.
I have two programs coming in to my Tvheadend system from different sources...
First scenario:¶
1.- Network IPTV: Quality HD
2.- Network DVB-S: Quality SD
Both services are mapped to the same channel. With this configuration made in the streams profile section:
So, with this configuration, when I start to play that channel, Tvheadend switchs to the IPTV service where is broadcasting in HD instead of the SD service of the DVB-S network. That´s OK.
But, if the source of the IPTV network/stream fails when we are watching that service, the option of "Switch to another service" doesn´t work and the image gets freezed in the TV until we stop to watch that channel and start to play again where starts the SD service from the DVB-S Network to be transmitted.
However, if the program needs to be descrambled the option to "Switch to another service" works better.
Second scenario:¶
1.- Network DVB-S: Quality HD (scrambled)
2.- Network DVB-T: Quality SD (FTA)
I start to watch the channel from the HD service but, if I have any problem with my descrambler service, the channel starts to transmit the service in SD coming from the DVB-T network almost without any interruption.
So, the question is, why the "Switch to another service" option doesn´t work with IPTV streams?
If helps, find attached to this post the logs trigering the two events in both scenarios.
Thank you and best regards.
