Integrate WebCam as Channel?

Hi,

is there a solution for integrating a JPEG-Stream from a webcam to tvheadend as a channel?

Goal:
show webcam stream as a tv-channel all over the house.

Wow, that sounds cool. Is it safe to install FFMPEG on a Ubuntu 16.04 Server running tvheadend? I'm little scared that installing a video package might influence the tvheadend installation ?
