Hi,
I've come over to Tvheadend from MythTV but I'm having a few issues.
One issue is that I have to login in three times to the web interface before it lets me in.
I had tvheadend recording the the /home/hts path but that volume has too little free space to continue recording there.
Having had my system set up already for MythTV, I have previously mounted a 400GB SSD under /var/lib/mythtv/recordings. I wanted to record through tvheadend on the same drive but keep the legacy mythtv setup in place.
I set the path in Configuration->Recording->Digital Video Recording Profiles (Default profile)->Recording system path: but after many attempts at setting up tvheadend to use that as the 'Recording system path' I still can't it to record there.
# ls -ld /var/lib/mythtv/recordings drwxrwsr-x+ 4 mythtv mythtv 12288 Jun 5 19:31 /var/lib/mythtv/recordings # getfacl /var/lib/mythtv/recordings getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names # file: var/lib/mythtv/recordings # owner: mythtv # group: mythtv # flags: -s- user::rwx user:hts:rwx group::rwx group:hts:rwx mask::rwx other::r-x default:user::rwx default:user:hts:rwx default:group::rwx default:group:hts:rwx default:mask::rwx default:other::r-x
Kodi refuses to record through the tvheadend. What am I missing?
Kind regards,
Tom

Hi,
I've just worked out that if I go the the Electronic Program Guide in the tvheadend web interface, I can record a program to the Recording system path. Kodi still gives and error!
Kind regards,
Tom

This is now weird. It's looking more like a Kodi plugin issue. I configured the Kodi Tvheadend HTSP Client-Advanced Settings-Debugging-Trace(detailed) to on and now recording from within Kodi works! If I switch the Trace to off, Kodi won't record giving the following message:
PVR backend error. Check the log for more information about this message.
Here's the log:
23:02:41.270 T:140516265150848 ERROR: AddOnLog: Tvheadend HTSP Client: pvr.hts - Command addDvrEntry failed: User does not have access 23:02:41.270 T:140516265150848 ERROR: PVR - AddTimer - addon 'Tvheadend:127.0.0.1:9982' returned an error: server error 23:02:41.270 T:140516265150848 ERROR: PVR - AddTimer - cannot add timer to client '2025648334': server error

User does not have access
From the log above it does look like a permissions issue. Why can I record from within the web interface but only get an error in Kodi and then when I put tracing on in the Kodi plugin it allows the recording?
Subsequent ERROR messages indicate a server error

I have the same problem.
I have defined a user on tvheadend (Configure -> Users) and have checked all privileges in Basic Settings. The DVR addon on Kodi is logged in as this user. Still I get:
17:51:00.548 T:1958416384 ERROR: AddOnLog: Tvheadend HTSP Client: pvr.hts - Command addDvrEntry failed: Access denied
17:51:00.548 T:1958416384 ERROR: PVR - AddTimer - addon 'Tvheadend:192.168.1.28:9982' returned an error: server error
17:51:00.548 T:1958416384 ERROR: PVR - AddTimer - cannot add timer to client '2146250725': server error
I could add that using the TVHClient app for Android, I have no problem recording. The recording problem seems to be specific to Kodi. Both OSMC and OpenELEC.
Any tips?

All of a sudden this is working. I am not quite sure what did the trick. My suspicion is that I had not restarted the Kodi add-in after checking some of the user's privileges on tvheadend. The add-in just restarted and now it works.
Now I can schedule recordings. Also, now Kodi can see the recordings that I have been making from the TVHClient.
Best regards
