It is not so much about identical cards as it is about identical sources. If both tuners are configured the same and provide the same source, then when you set them both to the same network, it means all the muxes/channels for that network are available from EITHER source (USB tuner).

I thought I might see duplicate channels which I might need to merge when creating my channel list, but this didn't happen. There were no duplicated. Maybe they are merged automatically?

Since there is only one network, there are no duplicates, regardless of how many tuners can provide that source.

Also, how can I check that both tuners are working? I was able to record three programs (all on the same mux)... I thought it should only be two at a time that are possible?!?

The limit of the tuner is that it can only tune one frequency at a time. But since a mux has a single frequency which is tuned, once it is tuned, ALL the channels from that mux can be watched/recorded simultaneously. To test your setup, you need to try to watch/record two channels from DIFFERENT muxes, which will force one to be tuned on one tuner and the other to be tuned on the second tuner. Note at this point, you can actually watch/record ALL the channels from the first mux AND ALL the channels from the second mux simultaneously.

Note, if you configure the two tunners differently (say one dvb-c and one dvb-t) then they would each need to have separate networks setup and assigned to them. In this case you could end up with duplicate channel names, but each would be provided by a different source (tuner.)

That's great, thanks for the explanation Joe User :). That all makes sense now...

I'll give it a try to watch/record from multiple muxes later when I get home!
