Timeshift question

Added by Raivo Kask over 7 years ago

I run Ubuntu server edition 16.04.2 LTS (4.4.0-62) and have installed tvheadend 4.0.9 & Kodi 17.0
In tvheadend configuration/timeshift enabled & on-demand are checked.
When I pause live TV with space a message pops-up:
Seeking
xx:yy-zz:qq

What is this ?
How do I interpret the time parameters xx:yy-zz:qq ?
Can it be supressed ?

That's Kodi, not Tvheadend. It is dependent upon the skin used in Kodi what shows when the playback is paused.

This is OSD display that the skin you have installed shows whenever you hit pause. In this particular case the 'Seeking' label is quite misleading.

The two numbers are the minutes and seconds you have watched, and still to be watched of the current stream.

Different skins display different OSD during pause, but all of them display something, so getting rid of it is unlikely, because if you accidentally pressed pause, the video would freeze without indicating why - most users would consider this a bug.

Thanks - as you mentioned the 'Seeking' label is misleading ... I was also fooled ... it should be 'Paused' instead.
