2 x HDHomeRun on 2 different networks

Added by eklectiq red almost 8 years ago

Hi,

I recently purchased a HDHomeRun CONNECT to add to my HDHomeRun DUAL that I had setup in Tvheadend because I was often running out of tuners.

The thing is that the tuner in the CONNECT is different than in the DUAL and about half the channels have good signal on one and the other half on the other. Therefore having both serve all channels is a hit and miss situation.

I thought I could go around the problem by setting two different networks, assign one tuner to each and enable only the right channels for each. However, the second network won't scan at all. If I have both in the same network, I can see in the logs that its scanning both, but as soon as I put either one of them in another network, that other network won't scan.

1. Is this a bug or I'm not doing this properly?
2. Is there any other way of doing this, something like "tuner by channel priority"?

Thanks!

PS: Running v4.1.2389

I was finally able to accomplish what I wanted by re-creating all the muxes that my first HDHomeRun had scanned manually, this time associating them with the new Network I had created.

This was excruciating long but at least I now have what I want!
