Mounted CIFS share does not spin down?

Hi folks,

I have mounted a windows share under Raspbian in order to store my recordings there. I noticed, that the drive is not spinning down any more (or it spins down and really soon up again) since I did that. Is this "normal", if yes why, and/or can it be avoided?
