Add SAT-IP server Manually! (By IP)

Added by Milad Pazouki about 8 years ago

Hi everyone!

I have a SELFSAT SAT->IP 36,
So I just installed TvHeadend and TvHeadend Detect it automatically!
Everything works fine!
But I want to add my Selfsat to TvHeadEnd by IP address Manually! Why ?
Because I want to send my Selfsat to another country in a Datacenter and connect to it via IP address over internet!
So I just need to know how can I add it by IP to TvHeadEnd manually ? is it possible at all ?

Thanks a lot and have a lovely day :)

Hi,

Possible! You can use the parameter "--satip_xml" to add manually your server. Example:

TVH_ARGS=" --satip_xml http://192.168.1.36:8080/desc.xml"

However, if the server is in a routed network, you need to confirm that the RTP stream can traverse your routers. If you use NAT routers, you need to add some forwarding roules. Also, you need to remember that RTP uses UDP, that it's unreliable.

My suggestion: Install a local TVHeadend in the remote Datacenter, and one in your house. And use other protocols for streaming between both headends.
