Tvheadend

i have a PC running the newest ubuntu server with lubuntu added to it and only Tvheadend so its a dedicated system. the tower has 2 PVR-500's in it to start. when check the cards with dmesg | egrep -i '(ivtv|tveeprom|tuner)' everything checks out fine but when i look in tvheadend none of the cards show up. im not near my system at the moment or i would have posted the output of IVTV. i read somewhere that tvheadend doesnts support analog tuners but people claimed to have the PVR-500 working with no explanation to how they got it to work. anyone have insight on the issue with using these cards or how you got them working? thanks.
