Tvheadend

Hi guys

In my setup I see a lot of failed recordings due to the inability of TVHeadend to decrypt the video stream (not TVH's fault as my decryption setup is a bit unreliable). It got me thinking however about why TVHeadend couldn't just continue to write the encrypted transport stream to disk and decrypt it later when watched.

What I want to know is, is this technically possible, to store a recording with encryption in-situ and decrypt it later, or is the encryption time-sensitive in some way so will only decrypt at the point in time it was transmitted?
