Tvheadend

I have been using tvheadend on a ubuntu server install perfectly for months and a couple of days ago it stopped working. Tvheadend now can't find any tuners even though they both show up in /dev/dvb (one dvb-s and one dvb-c) I apt-get autoremoved tvheadend yet i can still access the web server so can only assume somehow its still running and maybe this phantom version has taken the tuners ?

If i use top it doesn't seem to be in the list so im really stumped, I'm a linux noob so go easy

Any ideas or help greatly appreciated.
