Timeshift not working

It seems that the timeshift feature isnt working in version HTS Tvheadend 4.1-2216~gfd7806a.

If i enable RAM only its fine.
When I enable HDD mode then the folder exists with all permissions 777. but not timeshift files are ever created.

Timeshift is working in that version (and all subsequent) as I just checked out build 2216 (downgrading from 2236 to test for you).

What options have you got enabled in your timeshift configuration, here's mine:

On previous reports of 'timeshift not working' it's been because 'On-demand (no first rewind)' was checked.

Bit stumped by that one, I used your values and the same build and timeshift works fine.

You already said that it works if only RAM is enabled as my next question would have been which streaming profile are you using as I'm fairly certain timeshift only works with the HTSP protocol.

Does /var/log/syslog throw up anything useful and have you tried enabling debug and/or trace options to see what errors (if any) tvheadend is spitting out?

Try pasting a debug log here, set the following..
