SSD disk for Timeshift

Hello all,
In MythTV I always use Timeshift function and it really works great.
But in Tvheadend, if I pause a LiveTV, and the play, it is pixelated and it is not play well.
I read in the forums about install a SSD disk and put it the folder for Timeshift.
Someone could explain his experience with this? I want to be sure before buy a SSD disk.
