Transcoding not available in debian jessie (from package)

Added by Jurgen Bruggeman over 8 years ago

Hi,

This might be a stupid question but i couldn't find the awnser. I have installed tvheadend using the debian stable repo (4.0.9). Everything is working fine with my hdhomedun but i 'm missing the transcoding options in tvheadend under streaming. Do i need to install it from source in order to enable this feature? The only options i have are htsp, matroska, and pass and no resize option or h264.

Unless you have a good reason for not doing so, I would really recommend installing the 4.1 builds rather than 4.0 - there have been a load of improvements to TVHeadend between version 4 and 4.1.

I use 4.1 (compiled myself but you don't need to do that, pre-built packages are available in the official bintray repository) on a 'production' machine - used daily by me and my family and I have very few issues indeed.
