Tvheadend

I have TVH 4 running on my Synology NAS where the kernel is currently 3.10.35. TVH has been running fine but the NAS is under powered when it comes to transcoding so I wanted to move my usb devices to another linux server. That server is running kernel 3.13. I read that kernel 3.16 supports my USB sticks but I cant upgrade right now so since the NAS running 3.10.35 was able to detect my cards I copied /lib/firmware from there to the linux server but TVH is still not picking up the dvb devices.

So is there any way that I can force Ubuntu 14.04 LTS running 3.13 to detect the firmwares I took from the Synology and load them for the USB sticks?
