E2 Box as Input for TVHEadend
Added by A Ba over 8 years ago
Hi,
maybe a stupid question but did anybody ever try to use a E2 Box (Vu+ ,Dream, Giga etc) as Input for TVHeadend. I have a test box here for a few weeks (VU+ Solo) and could try if this is possible.
Background of this question is: TVHEadend is working brilliant to stream to any device. Kodi, IOS it's perfectly running. However there's one thing that does not work and that is PayTV. Sure there are some illegal possibilities but I'm not interested in that. As some of you may know the VU+ for instance has a CI+ Interface. IT's possible to watch PayTV (Sky or HD+) with that. This can also be streamed to another E2 Box or via m3u List to Kodi (Simple IPTV Addon). If it would be possible to stream to TVHeadend this would be very nice.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi,
I just found a short howto that m3u List can bei imported. This is fatastic. I did not get it to work but maybe someone can have a look at the screenshot and the m3u list and can help.
1) I setup a new automatic IPTV network... and put the path to my services.m3u (see screenshot)
The m3u was created by the VU+ Box (Webif interface)
Thanks

Hi,
ok I almost did it. When I put this m3u list into VLC it immediately starts the stream :-)
#EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,Das Erste HD http://192.168.27.197:8001/1:0:19:283D:3FB:1:FFFF01A9:0:0:0:
When I link this to TVHEadend (add Network - Automated IPTV Network and enter the URL:
file:///home/hts/services.m3u
I get answer back:
Unknown Playlist format
See log attached. Does anybody know how to correctly format the M3u List so that TVHEadend does understand it?
Thanks a lot

This is exactly what I want to do cause I want to use the NEW TV Headend App for Apple TV 4, and only have a VU+ Receiver.
My plan:
Using tvheadend on my synology NAS und use the VU+ for the DVB-S2 inputs.

Its much easier to put minisatip server on the dreambox and use it as a sat2ip server.

Yeah that's a great idea.
I found a binary for the VU+ (Basically it's Gigablue but also works for VU+) see here: https://minisatip.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=371
I started the binary (just with ./minisatip) on the VU+ and could start the Service. TVHEadend does find the Server butdoes not receive any signal. However I do not think it's TVHEadend issues but a VU+ / Minisatip issue. I also tried with DVBViewer and same here - Just a Black screen.
Did anybody get it to work on a Vu+/Dreambox?
Thanks
