DVR file retention period with Maintained space

Hello,
I configured my video recorder with:
- DVR file retention period: Maintained space
- Maintain used storage space in MiB (0=disabled): 50000
My understanding is that TVH maintains a used space of 50000MB.
In other words, oldest records are deleted to let the space to new ones when the used space reaches 50000MB.
Isn't it ?
It seems to fails. Space is not released.
