SNR and Signal Strength problem
Added by s. steve almost 9 years ago
Hello,
I bought a new tuner card, Digital Devices Cine C2T2 V7 & DuoFlex C2T2 V3 (SET) - 4 Tuner DVB-C/C2/T/T2 for PCIe last week and I tried install it on my openSUSE Leap 42.1 x86_64 (4.1.13-5-default kernel) and TVHeadend v4.0.7 (from packman repo). I installed dddvb 0.9.22 driver from Digital Devices's github and it works with TVHeadend but it does not show the SNR and Signal Strength in Status window. My old Mystique tuner's SNR and Signal Strength are displayed there.
I tried to change "Force old status" to ON but anything not changed.
How can I fix this problem? Can someone give me some advice for solution?
Thanks for help.

Hello,
I ran dvbsnoop for some detailed information what data solved by Digital Devices Cine C2T2 tuners.
dvbsnoop -s signal -frontend /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
cycle: 1732 d_time: 0.001 s Sig: 50 SNR: 320 BER: 0 UBLK: 0 Stat: 0x1f [SIG CARR VIT SYNC LOCK ]
It shows the Signal Strength is 50 and SNR is 320. I don't understand this values and I don't think the Signal Strength is dBm because 50 dBm is vary low input signal and recorded or live stream quality are very fine.
I tested my old Mystique card too.
dvbsnoop -s signal -frontend /dev/dvb/adapter5/frontend0
cycle: 97 d_time: 0.006 s Sig: 60909 SNR: 61937 BER: 2 UBLK: 0 Stat: 0x1f [SIG CARR VIT SYNC LOCK ]
It seems to me that this card uses two byte to show Signal Strength and SNR and tvheadend shows it correctly.
Can someone help me? Thanks.

I see that no one replied to this.
Is there a solution for "Digital Devices" cards?
Thanks!
