How to get timeshift to work?

I've enabled permanent timeshift and set /home/hts/timeshift as storage path.

I'm using TVHClient together with MX Player and VLC on my tablet.

But I can not go back in the stream.
Also the folder /home/hts/timeshift does not exist yet.

I'm using HTS Tvheadend 4.1-1355~g7a919b1~jessie on a raspberry pi 2.

Has anyone an idea, how to get it to work?

Timeshift only works with HTSP, http isn't supported.

Is there any android client that supports htsp?

Are there any other clients?
Kodi is a litte bit oversized as simply video player. :-)

No other ideas how to get timeshift to work on android device with mx player or vlc?
