EPG for North America?
Added by Will Stewart about 9 years ago
RPi2
OSMC
TVHeadEnd 4.0.7 (OSMC App Store)
Tried XMLTV the following ways;
1. tv_grab_na_dtv --configure --config-file /home/osmc/.hts/tv_grab_na_dtv.conf
- Result: Error GETing http://www.directv.com/lightbox/lightboxZipCode.jsp?_DARGS=/entertainment/lightbox/component/lightboxZipCodeComponent.jsp: Not Found at /usr/bin/tv_grab_na_dtv line 403.
2. tv_grab_na_dd --configure
- Result: Service description 'http://docs.tms.tribune.com/tech/tmsdatadirect/schedulesdirect/tvDataDelivery.wsdl' can't be loaded: 500 Can't connect to docs.tms.tribune.com:80
I have a Schedules Direct subscription, but have been unable to find a way to make it work with TVHE. Am I missing something?

None of those URLs work, the first is redirected to a 404 and the second doesn't even connect, looks like the service is down. Check you're running the latest version of XMLTV as the URLs may have changed.

I downloaded the most recent version yesterday, and just did an apt-get update again. On OSMC I'm not sure how to see the version.

See http://wiki.xmltv.org/index.php/Main_Page for the latest releases.
More than likely your distro is using an older version.

If you were not able to get it working, or are just tired of paying for TV schedule information, there's an alternative shown here:
This is very similar to the method I use. It gets schedule information from Zap2it.
No guarantees that it will work with OSMC, but if you've never got what you were attempting to do to work, it's probably worth a shot.
